Five Minute Mummy offers a review of the Crayola Doodle Magic Mat, the perfect solution for your budding little artists (especially the ones who like to draw on EVERYTHING).
My daughter Lowri loves to draw and paint, but when it comes to her canvas of choice I’m afraid she prefers anything that’s not paper; her face/hands/feet or the walls/floor/furniture. So when I saw the new Crayola Doodle Magic range advertised recently I new this would be the perfect idea for her. We’ve tried Aqua Doodle which is ok, the kids enjoy it, but it usually ends in the mat being soaked, me mopping water off the floor, then they have to wait for it to dry again before they can carry on and of course you can’t choose colours. Well it seems Crayola have solved these problem.
The Crayola Doodle Magic mat comes with the colouring mat, four pens (each an individual colour), an eraser (just add water) and a cleaning cloth. The mat has individual storage for each of the accessories and rolls away neatly for great storage, and it can be hug on the wall.
The pens are the biggest difference, you actually have colours; green, purple, orange and yellow. The look a little watery at first but quickly become darker .
The other amazing thing about the Crayola Doodle Magic pens is they don’t rub off on clothes, even better, when I treid a small test patch on my cream walls it only left a small mark which vanished when I used the included eraser, YAY!!!
Once your little ones have finished their picture, there’s no waiting for the mat to dry out again, you simlply take the earser and use it like a rubber. Then dry the area with the cleaning cloth and your mat is ready to go again.
If you haven’t guessed it, I love this product! It allows your children to use pens without the worry they are going to colouring all over themselves and your house. It’s completely reusable, easy to store and portable! If I had to think of one negative it would be that you don’t seem to be able to buy different colour pens; the additional packs are the same colours. As I said we’ve tried Aqua Doodle and the kids love it, but this solves a lot of the problems. You have a choice of colours, you can also use it again and again without waiting for it to dry, the handy storage and ability to hang in on a wall also get a huge thumbs up from me and the kids.
