On Sunday we took the drive to Staffordshire to visit CBeebies Land at Alton Towers. This is a great family day out, not only is CBeebies Land fun and exciting, it’s the perfect size for toddlers and younger children.
There are a great selection of rides, including Postman Pat’s Parcel Post, In the Night Garden boat ride, the Get Set Go Tree Top Adventure and the brand new Octonauts Rollercoster, which was by far 3 year old Gethin’s favourite ride.
As well as the rides there is the Something Special Sensory Garden, Mr Blooms Allotment, Nina’s Sience Lab, Tree Fu Tom’s Training Camp and Charlie and Lola’s Moon Squirters and Green drops which an indoor play area with interactive play, the motion sensitive ‘fish finger’ sea was too tempting for me not to have a go..
There are shows available all day at The Big Fun Time Tent featuring the Zigzilla’s, Mike the Night, Tree Fu Tom and Mr Bloom. This area also doubles up as a great place to relax and have a picnic. There are also other area for children in the rest of Alton towers, we really loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory The Ride, which was a boat ride and a simulator. Then there is also Sharkbait Reef a mini aquarium, which is part of the Sealife Centre.
I did managed to take advantage of ‘The Sun” vouchers, which offered two free adult tickets. However, I did have to collect ten tokens and you are required to select a day which you then cannot change.
There are also deals available on the CBeebies website. Families with under 4’s in their party can save up to 25%, even better they can also take vantage of the access to early ride times (this needs to be booked online at least two days in advance).
|Family||£43.80 per person|
The attractions are fantastic and if you have time there is more to do for little ones in the a rest of the park, and some rides offer the parent queuing system if you fancy a bit of adrenaline.
There is plenty of parking and it will cost you £6 for the day, no avoiding that one I’m afraid unless you have a Merlin Annual Pass, and we left with no queuing at all.
Overall a fantastic day out, highly recommended.
